SeaAgri works cooperatively with soil stewards world-wide in their efforts to remineralize our deficient soils and crops. Soil remineralization creates fertile soils by returning the minerals to the soil as done by Nature. As glaciers formed and moved during an ice age, rock was crushed into fine powder on the earth's crust. When the glaciers retreat as the earth grows warmer, winds blow the accumulated dust in the form of loess over the entire globe creating top soil; volcanoes spew minerals from deep within the Earth during eruptions; and minerals are contained in alluvial deposits.
The grass roots movement, concerned with the premise of John Hamaker in the book The Survival of Civilization (PDF) co-authored with Don Weaver, asserts that soil remineralization is the key to restoring soils and forests, and in the larger context, absolutely necessary and urgent to reduce levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and stabilize the climate. This movement began with Hamaker's writing in the early 1970s and during the 1980s expanded into a global grassroots community consisting of ecologically concerned individuals, organizations, scientists, policy makers, farmers and gardeners. It is recommended that applications of rock gravels and glacial moraine from glacial deposits mixed with 20 percent sea solids or SEA-90 provides the most natural mixtures of rocks with the broadest possible spectrum of minerals and trace elements. SeaAgri believes this mixture of rock dust and SEA-90 is especially powerful because the SEA-90 is water soluble and instantly available in the soil matrix. Microbial populations feast on the minerals and trace elements rapidly expanding their populations. In turn, the microbes break down the rock dust particles into bio-available nutrients the plants can utilize. This combination provides instant and residual nutrient availability for many more years.
SeaAgri also promotes the production and incorporation of Biochar (PDF) to your fertility management program. Many articles have been written about this fascinating subject, and more information can be found on our archives page. |
