History of Sea Energy Agriculture
When Robert Cain, founder of SeaAgri, lectures about Sea Energy Agriculture, he always begins with the question,“Where on earth does cancer not exist?” In 1976 Maynard Murray MD, who invented the technology, asked Robert the same question. Though the answer has not changed in a million years, the probability of contracting this dreaded disease has increased significantly. In 1976 it was estimated that one in thirty would die of cancer during our lifetime and since then, the odds increased to one in three! The answer to the question is of course “the sea”.
In the sea, all creatures from simple kelps and corals, to shellfish, fish and marine mammals, share direct access to full-spectrum fertility. Every element and nutrient necessary to sustain healthy biological life is readily available in naturally balanced seawater. The disease resistance of plants and animals in the sea compared to life on land is remarkably different. For example, the same species of fish, one found in fresh water and one in sea water, demonstrate this fact. Fresh water trout all develop terminal cancer of the liver by the age of five and one-half years yet such cancer has never been found in sea trout. Scientific investigation has shown that this absence of chronic disease is attributed to the apparent significantly longer life spans of sea mammals such as whales, seals and porpoises in comparison to similar land species. National Geographic recently published an article stating that lobster, that many of us enjoy eating, could live eternally if not killed by predators!
Approximately 70 percent of the Earth’s surface is covered by oceans and other collections of water. Sea water is the most ancient natural solution on earth and, in SeaAgri’s opinion, the most ideal physiologically. Darwin taught us that our oceans gave birth to life on Earth. Over two billion years ago, the first simple bacteria appeared in Earth's early seas. Throughout geological history, the seas have been the primary reservoirs of life as evolution advanced and regressed through the ages. Earth’s greatest sanctuaries of biodiversity are the seas.
Remarkably, between 85 and 92 of the 104 periodic table elements known to science are in constant solution in sea water existing in a liquid crystalloid state. Their proportions and balance always remain constant. Any element out of proportion simply participates out of solution and drops to the bottom of the sea, only to come back into solution if a deficiency occurs in the sea water. Thus the elemental or chemical balance in sea water is always maintained.
At one time, billions of years ago, after the seas receded and our continents were formed, soils contained all the periodic table elements present in sea water. Then rains came and the elements began their journey back to the sea. Therefore, the sea is an enormous receptacle of the former elemental wealth and balance that once supported life on land. Investigators found that a cubic foot of seawater sustains many times more living organisms than an equivalent of soil. Worldwide each year, about four billion tons of dissolved material are carried back to the sea by rivers. The most soluble elements, sodium and chloride (NaCl), are carried away first by rain water and that is the reason it is very scarce on land yet abundant in the sea. When sea water is dehydrated in natural sunlight the three percent that remains is 95-97% sodium chloride and 3-5% minerals and trace elements. Dr. Murray named this substance sea solids and SeaAgri calls it SEA-90.
In 2003, when SeaAgri began operations, a devastating tsunami hit Indonesia. Much of the agricultural land was covered by the sea for a short period of time. Agricultural experts said that the land would be fallow for a minimum of 10 years due to the sea (salt) water. That following year, farmers experienced bumper crops never seen in their lifetime because the soil fertility had returned. A perfect and natural application of Sea Energy Agriculture! (Tsunami Indonesia)
SeaAgri believes that we can replenish our agricultural soils, crops and livestock with the ideal balance of these missing minerals and trace elements from the sea and restore a portion of the lost fertility. Through the incorporation of SEA-90 sea solids into farm fertility and mineral programs, SeaAgri hopes to improve the biological activity in the soil, the productivity of our crops, the health of our livestock and the nutrient density of our food. Ultimately, SeaAgri’s mission is to improve human health through the application of the technology of Sea Energy Agriculture.
The two books below are available through SeaAgri and provide a wealth of information about this technology. The first, Sea Energy Agriculture, was written by Maynard Murray, MD and details his theories and research. The second, Fertility From the Oceans Deep, written by Charles Walters of ACRES USA, revisits Dr. Murray’s original work and takes it into the 21st century.
